OSG Appeals Collective Bargaining Decisions
Overseas Shipholding Group, OSG Ship Management (OSG) and their affiliate Alaska Tanker Company (ATC) are appealing recent separate decisions of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) relating to charges filed by the International Organization of Masters, Mates and Pilots, AFL-CIO (MM&P). Oceanbird to Install Wing Sails on M/V Way Forward
After the successful first onboard wing installation, Oceanbird is installing two wing sails during 2027 on the car-carrier M/V Way Forward, chartered by Volkswagen Konzernlogistik. In June 2026, the first Oceanbird wing sail was installed on the vessel Tirranna. The installation was completed successfully, and wing sail is working as intended. TDI-Brooks’ multi-use oceanographic research vessel, the R/V PROTEUS has completed its full-term ABS shipyard period in Las Palmas.During the shipyard period, TDI-Brooks expanded the vessel’s hydrographic capabilities and upgraded the PROTEUS with the installation of a new Kongsberg EM302 deep-water multibeam system. The hull mounted 30kHz EM302 has a depth range of 7,000m and can be used for a variety of applications across a range of water depths.
