Marine Group Boat Works to Build Multi-Deck Live Fire Training Simulator for San Diego Harbor Police Department

Marine Group Boat Works, LLC, a boatbuilding and repair company with facilities in San Diego and Los Cabos, has announced it has been awarded a new contract by the San Diego Unified Port District to design, fabricate, and install a multi-deck live fire training simulator in support of the San Diego Harbor Police Department. The advanced simulator will be installed aboard the Port District’s existing LCM-8 troop landing vessel, converting the platform into a dedicated shipboard firefighting training asset.

Steerprop, Aboa Mare Collaborate on Simulator-Based Propulsion Training

Under the agreement, Steerprop will be able to order tailored simulator training from Aboa Mare for its customers. Hydrogen Ship Fuel Requires Design-Based Safety Measures, DNV Study Finds

DNV has completed a multi-year study commissioned by the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) examining the safety implications of using hydrogen as a fuel in ships.The study, titled Safety of hydrogen for use in ships, concludes that hydrogen-fuelled vessels require a design-based safety approach and recommends the use of secondary enclosures across all hydrogen-carrying components, including those located on open deck.Hydrogen is increasingly being considered as a potential marine fuel, although broader adoption is expected to take time.
