The board of Alstom unanimously approved the offer from General Electric to buy its energy business, said Saturday the French industrial group in a statement.
The final proposal, which won approval Friday from the French government, "not only addresses the interests of Alstom and its shareholders but also provides security in relation to the concerns expressed by the French state," Alstom said.
