FMC ALJ Assesses $7.9M Penalty

The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) released an Initial Decision of the Administrative Law Judge issuing a cease and desist order and assessing a civil penalty in the amount of $7,900,000 against a non-vessel operating common carrier based in Hong Kong that was found to have violated the Ocean Shipping Act of 1984 on 120 occasions over a two-year period.
