FCC Revises Maritime Communications Rules

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has consolidated, revised, and streamlined its rules governing maritime communications. These changes are intended to incorporate new international maritime requirements, improve the operational ability of all users of marine radios, and remove unnecessary or duplicative requirements.
