Granite Construction Awarded Restoration Contract

Granite Construction Co., Watsonville, Calif., was awarded on Oct. 19, 2005, a $14,375,500 firm-fixed-price contract for Chalmette area plan emergency restoration hurricane protection. Work will be performed in New Orleans, La., and is expected to be completed by April 1, 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were an unknown number of bids solicited via the World Wide Web on Oct. 9, 2005, and two bids were received. The Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans, La., is the contracting activity (W912P8-06-C-0007).
