The U.S. Coast Guard is proposing to make permanent the current temporary naval vessel protection zones. Minor changes are being proposed, though, including expanding the vessels covered by the zone to include pre-commissioned naval vessels and other vessels under military operational control. Comments on the proposal must be submitted by April 22, 2002.
